Tata Motors’ re-energised passenger car policy has stirred up much enthusiasm amongst its fans. The brand’s commitment to retain its old-school values and combine it with some jazz and glamour is visible in its line-up of new launches for 2020, a range of cars that the Indian auto market is enthusiastically waiting for.
Altroz – Altroz is ready to join the crowd in January and compete with the likes of Baleno, Jazz and i20 in the premium hatchback variants. Its ALFA platform design, intelligent yet aptly crafted interiors along with a sharp exterior that demonstrates its endurance and sustainability are expected to add a fresh appeal to the segment. This purely performance oriented BS-VI compliant model with 1.2-liter petrol engine and a Nexon garnered 1.5-liter diesel engine is poised to become a functional trendsetter. Equipped with premium features, providing ample space and a safety nest to its riders, the car is priced between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.
Tata Gravitas – The 7-seater SUV is expected to land in February next year with a BS6 compliant powerfully tuned 2.0-liter diesel engine. Having tasted success with the Harrier, Tata desires to complete the SUV line up with this bold and beautiful model. Getting most of its styling cues from the Harrier, its rear will have a modish look to accommodate the additional row. Known as Buzzard internationally, it will be christened as Gravitas in our country with a tag of Rs 18 lakh. Its OMEGA platform is accompanied by luxury and performance attributes that are going to set the bar pretty high.
Nexon EV – Expected to have a grand launch in mid-2020, this features the same design elements as facelifted Nexon. Its new honed design cues renovated front edge and a brand new interior with updated features give the EV an undisputed charm. The IP67 numbered waterproof lithium-ion batteries can help the car charge faster and run 300 km on a single charge. The connected technology will enable the driver to know every detail about the car including tracking the percentage of charge. Tata claims this Rs 15 lakh priced car to be the most affordable SUV in the market.
Tata H2X – This micro SUV, also known as Hornbill, is intended for people desiring the feel of an SUV and comfort of a hatchback. Designed with Tata’s IMPACT2.0 styling philosophy and built upon the ALFA platform, this model will have a smaller wheelbase. H2X is planned to be placed below the Nexon in the Indian market. Set to rival Mahindra KUV100 NXT, the model will come with a tag of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh in May 2020 and bear unique futuristic design elements and a 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Tata Tiago Facelift – Getting a mid-life renovation with IMPACT 2.0 styling philosophy, Tiago, the game changer for the brand, is anticipated to conquer the automotive sector in February next year. With a price starting from Rs 4.31 lakhs, the model will continue with its petrol and diesel engine but make them BS6 compliant. The exterior will resemble Altroz with sharper and edgier front design. The interior too has been equipped and enhanced with the fully digital instrument cluster, first in its category.
