Toyota let everyone have a peek at its latest offering in the Sedan market at the Auto Expo 2018 last month. The Toyota Yaris is Toyota’s Challenger for the B-segment Sedan market.

With a competitive price tag of INR 8 lakh to INR 14 lakh (ex-showroom) this sedan is all set to give Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and others in the B-segment a run for their money.

Stylish Exterior

The exterior of this beauty has an upfront featuring new automatic Stylish LED headlamps, circular fog lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels which give it a sporty edge and signature LED tail lamps. The new Toyota Yaris has a  length of 4425mm, width of 1730mm and height of 1475mm.The tyres used are 185/60 R15 and the kerb weight of 1085 – 1100 Kilograms making it marginally lighter than Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz. The ground clearance is measured at 133mm.

 

Classy Interior

The New Yaris is expected to be adorned with a dual tone interior of black and beige with a dash of silver.  The Indian model of this masterpiece is expected to include Touch screen Infotainment, roof-mounted air vent, Powered driver seats and other cool features  the steering mounted controls and a rear parking camera makes this car a must have for technology enthusiasts. The comfortable interiors, combined with swanky features give this car a classy yet futuristic aura.

 

Toyota’s Safety Assurance

Toyota cars are regarded as the safest in their respective segments and the Yaris is no exception as it comes loaded with 7 airbags, Front Ventilated Disc Brakes, Rear Drums, Antilock Braking System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake assist to name a few.

 

The Beast within

Although the Yaris looks soft on the outside, it conceals a beast within. The petrol guise of this car boasts a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i 1496cc engine with a power of 108 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. The 6–speed manual and 7-step CVT automatic gearbox means that a better mileage can be expected of this power packed beauty on highways.

 

The B segment sedan market in India is an arena where only the tough and stylish reign. This challenger surely has the credentials to be the gladiator of this stage. All set to conquer the Indian roads in May 2018, it is only a matter of time before you find out whether it will be able to achieve this supreme status.
