An ode to the large Indian joint family, the new Datsun GO+ is Nissan’s brave foray into the country’s 7-seater market. After its initial launch in 2015, Nissan launched a new improved model of the GO in late 2018. An amalgamation of powerful Japanese technology and a new zest for its motto of ‘Experiencing Change’, the relaunched version of the vehicle is more spacious than ever while still maintaining its status as a sub-compact MPV.

Safety at Its Best

The affordability of this 7-seater does not compromise on the safety it delivers. Equipped with reverse parking assist sensors, auto braking system with EBD and brake assist, and a driver’s seat belt reminder, the standard safety gear is packed neatly into the car’s interior. Dual front airbags and headlights that linger on for a few seconds until you enter the safety of your home are the ideal features of a car that not only accommodates your entire family but also cares for it.

Under the Hood

Datsun GO+ is one of the most fuel efficient cars in India at 19.3 kmpl while continuing to be fuelled by the same 1.2L petrol engine as its forerunner. The tried-and-tested three-cylinder mechanism is coupled with a transmission unit of a 5-speed manual gearbox. Churning out a power output of 67 bhp alongside a peak torque of 104Nm, the car manages to deliver swiftness with ease.

Exterior

With a newfound flair for design, the relaunched version of the Datsun GO+ has a bolder avatar. The chrome-framed hexagonal grille is surrounded by LED daytime running headlamps on both sides which provide a sleek yet practical functionality to the car. Additional features of rear wipers and turn indicators ensure that there is no compromise between Nissan’s safety measures and its fresh look. The combination of an increased ground clearance of 180 mm, prominent 3D headlamps, and a larger diamond cut 14-inch alloy wheels creates a grander persona for the car’s exterior – complementing its spacious interiors perfectly.

Interior

Striving to offer even more space, the Datsun GO+ offers the storage capacity of 347L of boot space once the third row is folded. As a final touch, the vehicle’s class is accentuated with premium quality plastics and upholstery. The elegant dual-toned black and grey dashboard houses an advanced 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Google Map Navigation, voice recognition, and Bluetooth connectivity to cater to the multiple needs of a family.

Pricing

The new and improved Datsun GO+ ranges from Rs. 3.83 lakh for the entry-level model and goes up to Rs. 5.69 lakh for its highest variant. This exceptionally low price range for a 7-seater is sure to give competitors a run for their money.
